Essays follow a format. In the first paragraph you give a summary of
your idea. That idea should have a thesis, several supporting points,
and a summary. Each gets a sentence. Then the body of the essay is a
paragraph for each of the supporting ideas has a sentence for the idea,
a sentence for each part of the explanation then a sentence for why the
supporting idea matters. Finally the last paragraph summarizes the
thesis using the same structure as the introduction. Tell them what
you're going to tell them. Tell them. Tell them what you just told
them.
The format is expandable in that as many supporting ideas can be
inserted as desired to expand the essay. The format is recursive in
that each paragraph for a supporting idea can be replaced with an essay.
Follow this format and you'll do fine in your essay.
Of course you need to read the material, think about it and come up with
the idea for the essay on your own. I've helped you on how to write the
essay itself. It's your job to learn the material, think about it, and
build ideas based on your throughts.
